There are three methods you can use to access the Plot Style Manager to work with plot styles. If a style is assigned to an object, it will override the layer settings. Named Plot Styles can be attached to specific objects or layers.
Only 'Index Colors' are mapped to a Black/White value in the 'monochrome.ctb' and ''Grayscale.ctb' plot style tables. Section 16.1 - Plot Styles (CTBs) 16.1-3 s-n 6.ctb (AutoCAD Color-dependent Plot Style Table File) Internally, the (.ctb) files used for plotting DW drawings are saved on the network (DW CADDW Plot Styles-CTBs) Using the wrong (.ctb) could result in plots with unexpected lineweights, colors, plots and incorrect plan output. For example, railing is drawn with black line and solid line pattern. As you can see below, in object styles dialog box you can control the line properties. You can access object styles in Manage tab, Settings panel. Objects in Revit is controlled by object styles. With this style, it does not matter what color the objects are or even what layer they are on. This problem can arise, when the AutoCAD drawing contains lines that have non-'Index Colors' assigned to them. But certainly, we can control how the objects to appear when we plot. In a Named Plot Style table, you can specify the color, lineweight, linetype, screening, and so on that objects on a specific layer will have when plotted. In a Color-Dependent Plot Style table you can specify the color, lineweight, linetype, screening, and so on that objects of a specific color will have when plotted. You can set the default plot style on the Plot and Publish tab (Plot Style Table setting button) in the Options dialog box. The PSTYLEMODE system variable determines the used style of a new drawing. Color-dependent plot styles (CTB files). There are two types of plot style tables: You can use a table to reduce the number of redundant steps you need to perform each time you plot a drawing. Plot style tables contain several of the plot settings you use when plotting a drawing.
